Fishing at Smeaton's Lakes
A wide variety of fishing is available on the site, with 5 lakes spread over an area of 90 acres in addition to river fishing.
Night fishing, on-site concessions, toilets and showers are also available.
We have an established on-site fishery. Disabled people are catered for, with all lakes having easily accessible pegs. In addition to the lakes, we also have 7 pegs on the River Trent.
The site is open all year round and boasts 3 categories of fishing:–
- Coarse
(including the Finger Ponds, fed by the River Trent)
Bream - Tench - Rudd - Roach - Perch - Smaller Carp - Pike
- Carp
Mirror - Ghost - Leather - Common - Koi
- River
Barbel and Chubb during open season (June – March)
Fishing Rules:
- Environment Agency Rod Licence must be carried
- Barbless hooks only
- No live bait
- No nuts
- No carp in keep nets
- 2 rods only. No rods to be left unattended
- No litter to be left. Please use the bins provided
- No fires
- All anglers must have a minimum 42" landing net and unhooking mat
- All nets must be dipped
